10 Reasons Why Yugioh 5D was Epic

darkshadowduelist:

1- The story had a very complicated plot. However, the creators knew exactly where they were going with each episode. Unlike GX, each season followed one another amazingly and didn’t wait till the last season to explain why everything happened.

2- Signer Dragon’s Evolutions. Although the show wasnt fair with the women’s signer dragons, Luna and Aki never got an upgrade, I can watch the show over and over just to see Yusei soar into space in episode 150 and perform the most epic summoning I have ever seen. Shooting Quasar Dragon, although hard to summon, was worth the wait to see happen. I loved how Power Tool Dragon became Life Stream Dragon. Majestic Red Dragon appearing for the first time against Carly was amazing.

3- Female Voice. Akiza wasn’t some weak filler. She was strong and they gave her an amazing story to which a lot of teenagers can relate. Besides the psychic powers, she offered us a chance to see Yugioh reach out to all those who dont feel like they belong and that have been rejected by society. Koodos for her. And might I add, point 4

4- A good love story - Now I know they ended the show the way it made sense, not everyone could fall in love once at the age of 17 and last till they die. Both Carly and Jack and Yusei and Aki both chose to go their seperate ways and hide their true feelings for one another. However, I loved watching the bonds develop and was totally enthralled into the story.

5- Aporia. Kick ass bad guy. I loved the Mecklords and how they captured this futuristic apocalipse set on despair. Wonderful.

6- Dark Signers - That was a short arc to the first season that allowed viewers to meet Crow and a whole set of new characters. That arc allowed me to see Yugioh for its raw talent that it once had in the Battle City Arc from the original series.  They let us fall in love with Carly and then let her die in one of the most vicious ways imaginable. And since when did we cheer on Ccarayhua eating people? Nope that was just Divine, let that bastard rest in piece. Death was a pretty dark segment to 5D’s and it reminded me how much this show was amazing.

7- Earthbound Immortals, Mecklords and Temporal Machine Gods Vs Aesir and Signer Dragons. That fight was just epic. Although it lasted a short 155 episodes, it was a pleasure to watch.

8- WRGP allowed us to do flash backs into team’s lives and see dueling in a new way. I enjoyed that we also saw team dueling, it was a fresh idea that I liked a lot.

9- Ark Cradle. That was just pure epic. No joke.

10- Depth. The whole “Synchronizing” idea worked well with the futuristic back drop 5D’s had. Tuning the way to the future, the concept of Synchro summoning was grounded in three good ideas. 1- Nazca, if they set the main enemies for the crimson dragon as the nazca ruins, I was happy to see that the “star worshipers” actually played a part in the concept of synchro summoning. Adding the stars of two cards together was a good idea to support the star worshipping story. 2- Pushing us to the future along side Team 5D’s, synchro summoning revolutionized our game for the better. Just as the price of the game hit an all time high after Light of Destruction hit the shelves, synchro summoning allowed the game to gear itself onto a new path. 3- Synchro tuners were just an extra push forward beyond the boundaries of what we expected.

All in all, I loved 5D’s and am so sad that it came to an end in such an epic way.
